The Chemainus Salish Sea Market was purchased in February 2020, so that Penelakut Tribe can expand their economic opportunities. Penelakut Tribe and The Market chose to continue to operate the business, as-is, to build capacity and to develop a “market-ready” business that will suit the needs for our customers. The Market is a general store that is stocked with grocery items, fishing gear, gift ware, hardware, a deli, and lottery. Our new business is community owned, operated and continuing to grow for our customer needs.

We are located at 2835 Oak Street in Chemainus, B.C., and can be contact by phone at 250-246-3845.

Hours of operation have been shortened due to the Co-vid19 Pandemic:

  • Monday to Friday 9 am-5 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 12 noon- 5 pm

We will be expanding our hours when it is suitable.
